  Executive Committee (EXCO)

 Jeff Leaver, Chief Executive Officer, a.i.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) from the University of Natal (Durban) in South Africa. He has also successfully attended a number of general management and leadership programmes at various business schools, including the International Executive Development Programme presented by the Gordon Institute of Business Science. Jeff's professional experience in the mining industry spans four decades. He worked at the Anglo American Corporation Gold Division for a number of years before joining De Beers in 1991. He left De Beers as Head: Human Resources in 2006. Subsequent to leaving De Beers he worked as an independent management consultant for four years before joining Gem Diamonds in 2010 as the General Manager of a diamond mine in Indonesia. Having successfully disposed of the mine, Jeff stayed in the Gem Diamonds fold, joining Letseng Diamonds in 2012 as the Business Development Executive. He was appointed the Chief Operations Officer in August 2015. Jeff also serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Digby Wells Environmental, an international environmental consultancy.

 

  Jeremy Taylor, Chief Operating Officer

Jeremy is a Mining Engineer with over 30 years of mining experience, of which 20 years were in the diamonds business. He worked for several global mining organisations including Rio Tinto, De Beers Consolidated Mines, Debswana and AngloGold. During his long career, he has held numerous senior technical and operational management roles involving underground, open-pit and corporate mining environments. Jeremy is experienced in diamonds, gold, coal and copper mining and has worked in operations and projects in Lesotho, Botswana, Australia, Canada, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Indonesia and India. Jeremy is a graduate of the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, London. He is a Fellow of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Member of Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He joined Letšeng in July 2017.

 

 Refiloe Manyatsa, General Manager Services

Refiloe holds a Master's degree in Metallurgy Engineering from The School of Process and Metallurgy Engineering, Wits University. He joined Letšeng Diamonds from Scaw Metals where he managed several production plants including Wheel Plant and Foundry Melting Plant. He also served as a Quality and Laboratory Manager during his time at Scaw. Prior to working at Scaw, Refiloe gained diamond processing experience while working as a Senior Plant metallurgist at De Beers Kimberly mines (CTP). He also worked at De Beers Research and development Laboratory as a Research Officer. Refiloe joined Letšeng Diamonds in February 2012 as Metallurgical Manager. He was appointed to the position of Assistant General Manager in July 2014. He is currently the General Manager- Services, a position he assumed in September 2016.

 

 Andre Fourie, Strategic Technical Services Manager

Andre holds a BSc Honours in Geology from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, graduating in 1989. His other qualifications include a Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Mining) from University of Witwatersrand, Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management from the University of South Africa and Accelerated Development Programme from London Business School. His professional experience spans nearly 30 years, having worked as a Geologist, Mineral Resource Manager and New Business Development Manager at Anglo American, Vaal Reefs Exploration and Mining and De Beers Consolidated Mines. His other experience includes working as Technical Director for Botswana Diamond Plc and as Director for the London-based Diamond Exploration Strategies. Over the years, Andre has developed a comprehensive understanding and extensive experience in mineral resources development. He joined Lets'eng Diamonds in May 2016.

 

 Anton Nienaber, Senior Project Manager

Anton holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has over 20 years of experience specialising in client-side project management. This experience is supported by a Bachelor of Commerce Management Degree, Professional Engineer Certification, a Government Certificate of Competency Mines and Works and a Project Management Certificate. His project management experience ranges from the development of a new open cast mine, building a process-effluent pollution control dam to design installation and commissioning of process plants in the phosphate, sulphuric acid, copper, uranium and diamond industries. The project work in many cases included social environmental impact assessment, public participation interface activities. Anton also has exposure to underground mining and gold processing plants as well as exposure to magnetite ore processing plants. His participation at executive level in strategic planning and developing projects from concept through pre-feasibility and feasibility stages on to implementation and commissioning is his core focus at Lets'eng.

 Mpeke Makara, Metallurgical Manager

Mpeke is a Chemical Engineering graduate from the University of Cape Town and has recently completed the programme for management development with the Gordon Institute of Business Science. Mpeke has 7 years experience in the diamond processing industry both in production and quality control. He joined Lets'eng Diamonds from Minopex Lesotho in 2010 where he was the process superintendent trainee, responsible for quality control as well as plant operation from 2007.

 Maleshoane Kemeng, Human Resources Manager

Maleshoane holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Industrial Psychology from the University of Western Cape in South Africa. Her professional experience includes working as Human Resources Manager at Maluti Mountain Brewery, Human Resources Officer at Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation and Assistant Employee Relations Officer at the Ministry of Public Service in Lesotho. Maleshoane joined Lets'eng Diamonds in July 2013.
 

 
 

 Moitheri Kulehile, Security Manager

Moitheri holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Humanities from the National University of Lesotho. His professional development includes Programme in Security Management, Course in Security Practice, Course in Anti-corruption and Commercial Crime Investigation from the University of South Africa. He has over 20 years of professional experience, having worked as Senior Investigation Officer for the Police Complaints Authority, as Security Superintendent for Letšeng before leaving to join Storm Mountain Diamonds (Kao Mine) as Security Manager. He re-joined Letšeng in January 2016 as Security Superintendent; a position he held until he was appointed Security Manager in March 2017.
 

 

 Posholi Jonathan, Health & Safety Manager

Posholi holds a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Management from Curtin University of Technology in Australia and a Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Hygiene from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. He further received training in Management Development at Gordon Institute of Business Science in South Africa. His 24-year professional experience includes working as Director of Occupational Safety and Health and as Occupational Safety and Health Inspector at the Ministry of Labour and Employment. He also worked as Risk Manager at Lesotho Electricity Company. He joined Lets'eng Diamonds in July 2011.
 

 

 Seeiso Leche, Information Technology Manager

Seeiso is a Microsoft Certified IT Professional and is currently pursuing ITIL Expert Level Certification. Seeiso joined Lets'eng Diamonds in 2008. Before that, he worked at Telecom Lesotho, now Econet Telecom Lesotho, as IT Technician.
 

 
 

 Motooane Thinyane, Engineering Manager

Thinyane holds a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. He also has a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering and Diploma in Industrial Studies from Loughborough University from the United Kingdom. His 21 years of professional experience in operation, maintenance and management was acquired while he was working for Water and Sewerage Company, Lesotho Highlands Development Authority and Maluti Mountain Brewery. He joined Lets'eng Diamonds in March 2015.
 

 

 Gerrit Ferreira, HSE Technical & Risk Projects Manager

Gerrit has 28 years experience in the field of Health and Safety. He started his career in this field with NOSA and progressed to Operations Manager in the organisation, before he starting his own business 12 years ago. During the last 12 years Gerrit facilitated the implementation of HSE systems across the spectrum from small to international companies. He also contracted to IRCA, being the lead auditor for their international audits. Gerrit completed a Senior Certificate in Safety Management as well as the National Diploma in Safety Management. He also completed a Management Diploma through Wits Business School.

 

  Leon Ramatekoa, Environmental Manager

Leon holds a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Witwatersrand and a Master's Degree in Environmental Management from the University of the Free State in South Africa. His professional experience includes working for Arcus GIBB-CC Joint Venture, Minopex at Storm Mountain Diamond Mine, Ecosolve Consulting and La Terra Earth Sciences (Pty) Ltd. He also worked at the Department of Environment in Maseru, at St. Cyprians High School in Botha-Bothe and at Lesotho Highlands Development Authority. He holds memberships in the following professional bodies; the National Association for Clean Air (NACA), the International Association of Impact Assessment (IAIA) and the Golden Key International Honour Society.
